Austrian Olympic Committee
The Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) (german: link=no, Österreichisches Olympisches Comité) is the non-profit organization representing Austrian athletes in the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Erika Mahringer
Erika "Riki" Mahringer (16 November 1924 – 30 October 2018) was an Austrian alpine skier. Biography She competed in the 1948 and 1952 Winter Olympics. In 1948 she won the bronze medal in the slalom event as well as in the Alpine combined competition. In the downhill contest she finished 19th. Four years later she finished fourth in the 1952 Olympic downhill event. In the same year she finished 17th in the giant slalom competition and 22nd in the slalom contest. Mahringer earned silver medals in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships 1950 at Aspen (slalom and downhill), and in the giant slalom she finished fourth. She was a six time Austrian Champion (downhill 1948, 1951, 1952; slalom 1951; giant slalom 1951; Alpine Combined 1951). In 1951, she was named Austrian Sports Personality of the Year. Josef "Sepp" Schiffner (born 11 December 1930) was an Austrian and German Nordic skier who competed in the 1950s. He was born in Altaussee. Competing in the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of 11th in the Nordic combined event at Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956. Paul Aste
Paul Aste (born 5 December 1916) was an Austrian bobsledder and luger who competed during the 1950s and the 1960s. He also took the Olympic Oath for athletes at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. He was born in Matrei in Osttirol. Luge career As a luger, Aste won seven medals in the European luge championships with five golds (Men's singles: 1951, 1953, 1955; Men's doubles: 1952, 1955) and two silvers (Men's singles: 1952, Men's doubles: 1953). Bobsleigh career Aste also competed in bobsleigh during the 1950s and 1960s. He earned two medals in the two-man event at the FIBT World Championships with a silver in 1955 and a bronze in 1958.
