Austregésilo De Athayde
Austregésilo de Athayde (September 25, 1898 – September 13, 1993) was a writer and journalist born in Caruaru, Pernambuco, Brazil. His career includes being invited by Assis Chateaubriand to work at a top position at the Diários Associados. Later he became an emblematic figure for the Academia Brasileira de Letras as he served as President of the organization for 34 years. He was active in human rights causes in Brazil. Abgar V (c. 1st century BC - c. Armenian historian Moses of Chorene (ca. 410–490s AD) notes that Abgar V's chief wife was Queen Helena of Adiabene, who according to Josephus was the wife of King Monobaz I of Adiabene. Elmano Cardim
Elmano Cardim was a Brazilian journalist. He was born on December 24, 1891, in Valença. He was the fifth occupant of Chair 39 of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, to which he was elected on April 13, 1950, in succession to Rodolfo Garcia. He was received into the Academy by Levi Carneiro on September 29, 1950. He chaired the Brazilian Academy of Letters in 1958. Cardim died on February 19, 1979. His successor to Chair 39 was Otto Lara Resende Otto Lara Resende (1 May 1922 – 28 December 1992) was a Brazilian journalist and writer. Caruaru
Caruaru is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Pernambuco. The most populous city in the interior of the state, Caruaru is located in the microzone of Agreste and because of its cultural importance, it is nicknamed ''Capital do Agreste'' (Portuguese for the "capital city of the Agreste region"), ''Princesinha do Agreste'' ("Little Princess of Agreste"), and ''Capital do Forró'' ("the capital city of ''forró''").
