Australian Guild Of Screen Composers
The Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC) is a not for profit organisation, which was established in 1981, "to represent the interests of Australian screen composers by developing and promoting employment opportunities, undertaking educational initiatives and increasing their profile amongst the industry." It was established by Bruce Smeaton and Bruce Rowland. The Guild's head offices are in Sydney, with successive presidents from 1987 being Bob Young (1987–91), Martin Armiger (1992–98), Chris Neal (1999–2000), Art Phillips (2001–08), Clive Harrison (2008–11), Guy Gross (2012–17), Caitlin Yeo (2018–20) and Antony Partos (2020–present). Since 1991 it has been sponsored by the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA). AGSC presented film and television composers with awards from 1996 to 2000. Bruce Smeaton
Bruce Smeaton (born 5 March 1938) is an Australian composer who is well known for a variety of Australian film and television scores in all genres, including features, shorts, television, documentaries and advertisements. His scores include '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'', ''Seven Little Australians'', '' Roxanne'', '' Iceman'', and ''Circle of Iron''. He has won the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Best Original Music Score award for ''The Cars That Ate Paris'' (1974), ''The Great Macarthy'' (1975), ''The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith'' (1978) and '' Street Hero'' (1984, shared with Garth Porter and others). Les Gock
Leslie Gock (born 1954) is an Australian musician, producer and sound designer. He joined the glam rock band Hush in 1972. Gock played lead guitar, and was also a song writer and co-producer. The group received 12 gold records during his time in the band. After leaving Hush in 1976, Gock became a music and sound design director for film and television soundtracks, receiving industry recognition by Gold Clios, Facts Awards, and New York International Advertising Festival Awards. Gock also wrote the club song for the Canberra Raiders Rugby League team. Biography Leslie Gock was born in 1954. David Hirschfelder
David Hirschfelder (born 18 November 1960, Ballarat, Victoria) is an Australian musician, film score composer and performer. As a musician he has been a member of Little River Band and John Farnham Band. ''Twisted Tales'' is an Australian television anthology and mystery drama which screened on the Nine Network from December 1996 to January 1998. Each episode was narrated by Bryan Brown, who also produced the follow-up series, ''Two Twisted'', in 2006. Each episode of the series contains a twist ending. Anthony Linden Jones (born 1959 in Sydney, Australia) is a composer, conductor and performer living in the Hawkesbury region, on the north west fringe of Sydney. He composes for concert pieces, film scores, songs, music for theatre and dance, and electronic works.
