Austin Roberts (American Football)
Austin Roberts (born December 3, 1995) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at UCLA. Early years Roberts was born in Plano, Texas, but grew up in Hollywood, Florida, where he attended Plant High School for two years before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, before his junior season, finishing his last two years of high school at Carmel High School. As a senior at Carmel, Roberts caught 50 passes for 560 yards and five touchdowns along with returning seven kickoffs for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Roberts committed to play football for the UCLA Bruins in July 2013, choosing the Bruins over schools such as Alabama, Miami, and Ohio State among others. College career Roberts tore his ACL at UCLA in July 2014, causing him to miss his freshman season at UCLA. He elected to take a medical redshirt. Austin Roberts (singer)
Austin Roberts (born George Austin Robertson Jr.; September 19, 1945) is an American singer and songwriter. His most successful recording was 1975's "Rocky"; a transatlantic Top 40 hit single. He also wrote several songs that featured in episodes of Scooby-Doo Where Are You! and performed the theme for season 2 of the show. Career Roberts was born on September 19, 1945 in Newport News, Virginia. As the lead singer of Arkade, he had two ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hits in 1970-71, including the easy listening crossover, "The Morning of Our Lives", which became the ''Bridal Fair'' theme, later a Top 15 Adult Contemporary hit, and "Sing Out the Love (In My Heart)", which reached No. 99 on the Hot 100. Roberts performed the theme song to the second season of the animated series, ''Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'' as well as the season 2 "chase songs", many of which he also composed. Austin Roberts (3 January 1883 – 5 May 1948) was a South African zoologist. He is best known for his ''Birds of South Africa'', first published in 1940. He also studied the mammalian fauna of the region: his work ''The mammals of South Africa'' was published posthumously in 1951. The 7th edition of ''Roberts' Birds of Southern Africa'' which appeared in 2005, is the standard work on the region's birds. Biography Roberts, son of Alfred Roberts (church minister) and Marianne Fannin (naturalist and flower artist), was born in Pretoria and grew up in Potchefstroom, South Africa. He gained much of his early knowledge of zoology from Thomas Ayres (1828–1913), one of South Africa's first amateur ornithologists. Ayres taught Roberts to skin birds and small mammals as well as the importance of keeping accurate records on every specimen. He also encouraged Roberts to study birds systematically.
