Austin Herzog
Austin Herzog (born August 6, 2002) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He last competed part-time in the ARCA Menards Series West, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet SS for Bill McAnally Racing, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet SS for the same team. Racing career Early career Herzog would first race in 2014, at twelve years old, racing in Mini Cups. He raced there for two years, finishing 3rd and 4th in the standings respectably. In 2016, he would make his debut in the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, getting four wins at Madera Speedway, while getting six fastest lap times. In 2017, he returned to the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, getting two more wins, and would become the winningest driver in series history. He would make more late model starts later in the season. The Dawn 150 was an ARCA Menards Series race held at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. It was originally 201 miles until 2008, but was shortened to 150 miles the next year. It has supported NASCAR Truck Series Overton's 225 in 2009, 2010 and 2012 and since 2016 the NASCAR Cup Series Overton's 400. The race has been scheduled on either the ARCA Menards Series or ARCA Menards Series East schedules each year except for 2019 (and run each year except that year and 2020). History The ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series (now known as the ARCA Menards Series), ran its inaugural race at the track in 1986. It then was off the schedule for a dozen years. In 1999, it was added back to the series (now the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series) schedule and remained on it each year until 2017, when it was taken off the ARCA schedule in exchange for a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race. The Calypso Lemonade 150 is an ARCA Menards Series/ARCA Menards Series East combination race held at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The inaugural race was held on October 15, 2006 and was 250 laps in length. The race was shortened to 200 laps in 2009 and 150 laps in 2013. The Dawn 150 is an ARCA Menards Series race held at Kansas Speedway. It is one of two races the series has at the track, the other being the Kansas Lottery 150 in September. The race was added to the schedule in 2020 after the cancellation of the race at Chicagoland Speedway due to COVID-19 regulations in Illinois. It then became a permanent race on the ARCA Menards Series schedule in 2021. So far in each year in that the race has been run, the race has been won by the driver who went on to win the series championship: Bret Holmes won it in 2020, which was his first ARCA win. The 2022 Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire was the first stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season and will be the 59th iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Speedway, a 2.5 mile (4 km) permanent asphalt superspeedway. The race was run over 80 laps.
