Austal 118 Meter Trimaran
The 118 metre trimaran is a class of high-speed craft, high speed trimaran ferries designed and built by Australian shipbuilder Austal for the Canary Islands operator Fred. Olsen Express. Two ships of the design were ordered in 2017 for delivery in 2020 and 2021. The vessels were ordered in November 2017, at a cost of Australian dollar, AU$190 million (Euro, €126million), with construction planned to begin the following year. The lead ship of the class, ''Bajamar Express'', was launched from Austal's Henderson, Western Australia shipyard in January 2020, while the following vessel, ''Banaderos Express'', was built at the company's facility in Balamban, Philippines. Baja Mar (or Bajamar) is a seaside resort community twenty minutes north of Ensenada, Baja California, Ensenada and forty minutes south of Greater San Diego–Tijuana in Ensenada Municipality, Baja California, Mexico. The resort community is located just south of another gringo community, La Salina, Baja California, La Salina – host of the Puerto Salina marina. History The idea of the resort at Baja Mar was developed in 1975 by Grupo Valcas, a resort developer. Planning, development and initial construction of what would become the Bajamar Ocean Front Golf Resort was begun by Grupo Valcas as well. High-speed Craft
A high-speed craft (HSC) is a high-speed water vessel for civilian use, also called a fastcraft or fast ferry. The first high-speed craft were often hydrofoils or hovercraft, but in the 1990s catamaran and monohull designs become more popular and large hydrofoils and hovercraft are no longer built. Most high-speed craft serve as passenger ferries, but the largest catamarans and monohulls also carry cars, buses, large trucks and freight. In the 1990s there were a variety of builders, but due to HSC high fuel consumption, many shipbuilders have withdrawn from this market so the construction of the largest fast ferries, up to 127 metres, has been consolidated to two Australian companies, Austal of Perth and Incat of Hobart. Henderson is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Cockburn. History The suburb of Henderson comprises land resumed by the Commonwealth Government in 1915 for defence purposes. A large naval base was planned by Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson, and the area was sometimes referred to as "Henderson Naval Base". The name was approved for the suburb in 1973. In 2019, the City of Cockburn approved a split of the neighbouring suburb Munster, whereby the north-western part of the suburb would become the new suburb of Lake Coogee while another part, in the south-west, would be added to Henderson. Balamban, officially the Municipality of Balamban ( ceb, Lungsod sa Balamban; tgl, Bayan ng Balamban), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 95,136 people.
