Aura K. Dunn
Aura Kenny Dunn (born November 15, 1971) is an American Republican Party (United States), Republican Party politician who has represented the New Jersey's 25th legislative district, 25th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from November 25, 2019 until January 14, 2020. She was sworn in again on February 3, 2020. She served in the Assembly as the Assistant Minority Whip. Education and early career Dunn earned her bachelor's degree in sociology at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York at Buffalo and was awarded a graduate degree in public administration from George Washington University. Dunn also holds a certificate in Mediation. She was a budget analyst on education policy for the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee from 1997 to 2000, and a policy advisor for the House Veterans Affairs Committee. New Jersey's 25th Legislative District is one of 40 in the New Jersey Legislature. As of the 2011 apportionment, the district includes the Morris County municipalities of Boonton Town, Boonton Township, Chester Borough, Chester Township, Denville Township, Dover Town, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Mine Hill Township, Morris Township, Morristown, Mount Arlington, Mountain Lakes, Netcong, Randolph Township, Rockaway Borough, Roxbury Township, Victory Gardens, Washington Township and Wharton; and the Somerset County municipality of Bernardsville. The New Jersey Senate was established as the upper house of the New Jersey Legislature by the Constitution of 1844, replacing the Legislative Council. There are 40 legislative districts, representing districts with an average population of 232,225 (2020 figure). Each district has one senator and two members of the New Jersey General Assembly, the lower house of the legislature. Prior to the election in which they are chosen, senators must be a minimum of 30 years old and a resident of the state for four years to be eligible to serve in office. From 1844 until 1965 (when the ''Reynolds v. The New Jersey Legislature is the legislative branch of the government of the U.S. state of New Jersey. In its current form, as defined by the New Jersey Constitution of 1947, the Legislature consists of two houses: the General Assembly and the Senate.
