''Aura'' is the second studio album by Australian metalcore band The Brave (band), The Brave, released on 5 April 2019 by UNFD. It was produced by Troy Brady and recorded at Heliport Studios in Buderim. Promotion and singles On 2 August 2017, The Brave released their single "Ethereal" and its accompanying music video. On 6 February 2019, the single "Technicolor" was released, alongside its accompanying music video. A tour to promote "Technicolor" was announced shortly after its release, Melbourne rock band Windwaker (band), Windwaker joined them. They also announced ''Aura'' and its expected release date. On 6 March, the band released their newest single, "Desolation", which was premiered on Triple J's ''Short.Fast.Loud'' segment. On 4 April, a day before the album's release, the band released the single "Burn" alongside an accompanying music video. The Brave are an Australian metalcore band from Brisbane, formed in 2013. The band consists of guitarists Kurt Thomson and Denham Lee, drummer Brent Thomson, bassist Daniel Neucom, and vocalist Nathan Toussaint. They have released two studio albums: ''Epoch (The Brave album), Epoch'' (2016), and ''Aura (The Brave album), Aura'' (2019). History Formation and early years (2013–2014) The Brave were formed in May 2013 by Kurt Thomson on lead guitar, Dave Mead on rhythm guitar, an unidentified individual on drums, Daniel Neucom on bass guitar, and Nathan Toussaint on vocals. Toussaint whose previous bad had broken up wished to form a new band, getting together with his drummer friend (whose band also broke up), they recruited Mead, Thomson, and Neucom as guitarists and bassist respectively. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. Drew Fulk (born May 1, 1987), also known as WZRD BLD, is an American songwriter and record producer based in Los Angeles. He has worked with artists such as Disturbed, Lil Peep, Lil Wayne, Motionless in White, Kim Dracula, Highly Suspect and Illenium, and has over ten #1 Billboard Rock to his name. He also started and currently runs his own publishing company, In the Cut Publishing, through APG. Pridelands are an Australian rock band, from Mount Gambier, Australia. The band's current lineup consists of original members Mason Bunt (scream vocalist), lead guitarist Liam Fowler, and clean vocalist Joshua Cory. Buderim ( ) is an urban centre on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. It sits on a mountain which overlooks the southern Sunshine Coast communities. ''Epoch'' is the debut studio album by Australian metalcore band The Brave, released on 5 August 2016 by UNFD. It was produced, engineered, and mixed by Sonny Truelove at his recording studio, STL Studios in Sydney. Background and promotion An "epoch" is a notable period in history or in someone's life. Being their debut studio album, The Brave chose that as its title. Frontman Nathan Toussaint explained "...for us that is exactly what this album is. It's a significant thing that has taken us from just being a local band having a bit of fun to a signed band with an album we are truly proud of." The album artwork was done by Pat Fox, including the album insert booklet art. Additional photography was done by guitarist Kurt Thomson.
