Audioconfusion
Audioconfusion is a recording studio in Mesa, Arizona. It was established 1996. The newest incarnation of the studio was built in 2006. It is owned and operated by Jalipaz Nelson. Audioconfusion is notable for its production and recording of various independent Phoenix bands, especially the first four studio albums by AJJ (and the majority of all of their recorded output with the exception of their two most recent studio records). The studio's sound emphasizes natural reverb and live recording methods. History Originally from Pennsylvania, Jalipaz Nelson settled in Arizona at the premature culmination of a road trip when he was hindered from crossing the California border due to ferret regulations. In 1995, Nelson attended an introductory recording program in Ohio prior to starting Audioconfusion in 1996. In 2004, he began The Audioconfusion Manifesto. Red Tank!
Red Tank! is an American punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, United States that is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. They are known for their erratic sound and "high energy" performances which propel introspective, complex lyricism. They have been described as "caffeinated unk.. perfect for wrecking a living room: a combination of soaring scream-alongs and ecstatic existential anthems." The album was recorded and mixed by Jalipaz Nelson at Audioconfusion in Mesa, Arizona. Track listing Critical reception Punk music review site AbsolutePunk gave the album a rating of 86 out of 100 with Dre Okorley concluding that "''Knife Man'' is synonymous to the gritted teeth and theatrical story lining of a clever manic depressive duo on a wild ride of political blindsiding and folk-rock maturity." The Necronauts
The Necronauts is a band originally from Mesa, Arizona. It has been active for well over ten years and maintains a place in the Arizona punk rock scene, and has now started to find a place nationwide. History The Necronauts formed in 2000 in Dale and Billy Goodman's parents' trailer in East Mesa, Arizona, with Dale on drums and Billy on vocals and guitars. Together, they would produce a genre bending style of music that is all their own, but can mostly fit into simply punk rock. AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad. Their lyrics handle themes of shyness, poverty, humanity, religion, addiction, existentialism, and politics. Singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette and bassist Ben Gallaty are the only remaining founding members. Okilly Dokilly were an American heavy metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, United States, that played "Nedal" music; a subgenre of metal music themed around the animated character Ned Flanders from the television series ''The Simpsons''. All band members performed dressed as Flanders, and the majority of the lyrics to their songs are quotes of his. The band members go by the pseudonyms: Head Ned, Shred Ned, Zed Ned, Dread Ned and Bed Ned. The unusual concept behind the group has resulted in worldwide attention.
