2016 Auburn Tigers Softball Season
The 2016 Auburn Tigers softball team is an American softball team, representing Auburn University for the 2016 NCAA softball season. The Auburn Tigers play their home games at Jane B. Moore Field. In 2015, the Auburn Tigers softball team went 56-11 during Clint Myers second season, and won its first SEC softball tournament on May 9, 2015, at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, LA, by defeating #11 Tennessee in extra innings. Auburn garnered a #4 seed in the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament, and hosted a regional and super regional at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, AL. Auburn won both the regional and super regional and advanced to their first 2015 Women's College World Series at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK. Kasey Cooper
Kasey Marie Cooper (born April 7, 1995) is an American softball player and third baseman, originally from Dothan, Alabama. Cooper played college ball at Auburn University, in which entering her senior season holds almost every offensive record for the Tigers. Cooper also plays for the United States women's national softball team, and won a gold medal with the team at the 2016 Women's Softball World Championship and a Silver Medal at the 2016 World Cup of Softball. Early life Cooper was born in Dothan, Alabama to parents Jeff and Peppi Cooper. Cooper's older sister, Kortney, played college ball at Troy University. Cooper attended Dothan High School and graduated in 2013. Cooper hit .569 with 22 home runs, 77 RBI and pitched with a 28-13 record, 1.35 ERA and 392 strikeouts from the circle as a senior. Southeastern Conference Softball Player Of The Year
The Southeastern Conference Player of the Year is a softball award given to the Southeastern Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1997 season, with both pitchers and position players eligible. After the 2002 season, the Southeastern Conference Softball Pitcher of the Year award was created to honor the most outstanding pitcher. The 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 31 to June 4, 2019, as the final part of the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season.
