It was formerly known under the scientific name ''Atteva punctella'' (see Taxonomy section). 	Atteva Gemmata ''Atteva gemmata'' is a moth of the family Attevidae. It was described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1873 and is endemic to Cuba.
