The airline began services on December 16, 2004, from Banjul International Airport in Banjul to Lagos International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. Eos Airlines, Inc. was an American all- business class airline headquartered in Purchase, New York, with its flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. On 26 April 2008 Eos Airlines announced its plans to file bankruptcy on its web site, announcing it would cease passenger operations after April 27. History The airline was founded in 2004 by Dave Spurlock, a former director of strategy at British Airways. The company was initially named Atlantic Express and changed its name to Eos in 2005. Eos began operations between New York and London Stansted on October 18, 2005. Atlantic Express was an operator of transit buses, paratransit and school buses in the United States, specializing primarily in school bus service, while operating transit buses in New York City. At the time of its closure, Atlantic Express was the fifth largest school bus operator in the United States and Canada, behind First Student/First Student Canada, Durham School Services, Student Transportation of America, and the New York City-area Metropolitan Transportation Authority's bus division (to which Atlantic Express had been a contractor). The ''Atlantic Express'' and ''Pacific Express'' were a pair of Erie Railroad passenger trains which together provided round-trip service between the New York City area and Chicago, Illinois. They were the Erie's oldest named passenger trains, having been named in 1885 and discontinued in 1965 under the Erie Lackawanna Railway, successor to the Erie. Specifically, the train originated at the Erie Railroad's Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey until 1956. For the last nine years the train began at the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western's Hoboken Terminal in Hoboken, New Jersey.
