Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Coach Of The Year
The Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Coach of the Year is an annual award given to the best head coach in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The award has been given since 1975. Notable winners of the award include: Bruce Arena (who later coached the United States men's soccer team and LA Galaxy), I. M. Ibrahim (who spent his entire coaching career with Clemson University), Anson Dorrance (who later simultaneously coached the University of Carolina's women's soccer team and the United States women's soccer team) and Jay Vidovich (who went on to coach Portland Timbers 2 for a season, before returning to collegiate soccer). Arena and Vidovich are currently tied for the most times having won the award, with seven wins each. Atlantic Coast Conference
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference located in the eastern United States. Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, the ACC's fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I. Virginia Cavaliers Men's Soccer
The Virginia Cavaliers men's soccer team represent the University of Virginia in all NCAA Division I men's soccer competitions. The Virginia Cavaliers are a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Virginia has an extensive reputation as one of the most elite collegiate soccer programs of the United States. The program has produced several prominent United States national team players such as Claudio Reyna, John Harkes, Jeff Agoos, Ben Olsen, and Tony Meola. Future U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena coached Virginia to five College Cup titles in a six-year period during the 1980s and 1990s, and his protégé George Gelnovatch has since guided the Cavaliers to six College Cups and four championship games, winning two of them. 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Season
The 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer season was the 69th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. Clemson were the defending champions of the Atlantic Conference and Pittsburgh were the defending champions of the Coastal Conference. Notre Dame were the defending ACC Tournament Champion. Eight ACC teams were invited to the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Clemson had the best showing of the eight, winning their third title in program history. Syracuse won the Atlantic Conference with a 5–1–2 record and Duke won the Costal Conference. Syracuse went on to win the ACC Tournament 2–0 over eighth seed Clemson in the final. In 2022, eight ACC teams were again invided to the NCAA Tournament. Pittsburgh Panthers Men's Soccer
Pittsburgh Panthers men's soccer is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's soccer (association football) team of the University of Pittsburgh, often referred to as "Pitt", located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pitt men's soccer competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and plays their home games at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the university's Petersen Sports Complex. Pitt soccer players have had eight selections as All-Americans and multiple former Panthers have gone on to play professionally. The 2020 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer season will be the 67th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. Clemson are the defending champions of the Atlantic Conference and the Virginia are the defending champions of the Coastal Conference. Wake Forest are the defending ACC tournament Champions. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season has been significantly modified from previous seasons. The teams were reorganized geographically, and will play a six-game conference season. Syracuse Orange is the NCAA college soccer team for Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. They are a Division I (NCAA), Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Syracuse Orange, Syracuse fielded its first varsity soccer team in 1920.
