Tsvetanka Pavlova Khristova ( bg, Цветанка Павлова Христова) (sometimes spelled Tsvetanka Hristova, 14 March 1962 – 14 November 2008) was a Bulgarian discus thrower. She won gold at the 1991 World Championships and the 1982 European Championships. She also won two Olympic medals, with bronze at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and silver at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Her best throw of 73.22 metres in 1987, ranks her eighth on the world all-time list. Life Born in Kazanlak, Stara Zagora she became European champion in 1982 at only 20 years of age. Nine years later she won the World Championships, and the following year won an Olympic silver medal. Khristova tested positive for steroids in 1993 and was banned from competition. Diana Sachse
Diana Gansky ( Sachse; born 14 December 1963 in Bergen auf Rügen, Bezirk Rostock) is a German track and field athlete. She won an Olympic medal and was one of the world's best discus throwers. She represented East Germany and was the 1986 European champion (with her birth name Sachse). In 1987 and 1988 she was second in both the world championship and the Olympic games. Gansky won the European Junior Championship as a 17-year-old in 1981, but she needed a few more years before she was able to compete with the already strong discus team of East Germany. She stood in the shadows of Martina Hellmann (who she only beat at the 1986 European championship). For a long time she trained with Gabriele Reinsch, the world record holder since July 1988 when she threw 76.80 meters. Gabriela Hanuláková (6 March 1957 – 22 January 2024) was a Slovak track and field athlete and athletic coach. Until her death in 2024, she held Slovak national records in shot put and discus throw. Biography Gabriela Hanuláková was born on 6 March 1957 in Trnava. In the beginning of her career she competed out of her hometown but from 1977 she competed for Slávia Bratislava. She debuted internationally at the 1975 European Athletics Junior Championships in Athens, where she finished eighth in shot put. At the 1985 Summer Universiade in Kobe she placed fifth in the same discipline. Hanuláková became the Slovak champion in shot put eight times and six times in discus throw.
