The Men's 800 metres at the 2010 Commonwealth Games as part of the Athletics at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, athletics programme was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday 8 October and Sunday 10 October 2010. The top three runners in each of the initial four heats automatically alongside the four fasters runners qualified for the semifinals. The 2010 Commonwealth Games (Hindi: 2010 राष्ट्रमण्डल खेल), officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010, was an international multi-sport event that was held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. Gareth Warburton (born 23 April 1983) is a Welsh middle-distance runner originally from Caernarfon. He specializes in the 800 metres. Warburton finished fourth in the 800m at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He has represented Great Britain on numerous occasions. Lachlan Renshaw
Lachlan Renshaw (born 2 April 1987 in Sydney, Australia) is a middle-distance track and field athlete and is the 2010 Australian Champion over 800 metres. He was also the 2008 800 m national champion. He represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finishing sixth in his heat in a time of 1:49.19. In 2010 he competed in the 800 m at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, progressing through the rounds to the final, but was unable to start in the final due to injury. Lachlan has also competed at the international level at the 2006 World Junior Championships (3rd in his semi-final), as well as the 2007 and 2009 World University Games, finishing fifth in the 800 m in the latter event. Boaz Kiplagat Lalang (born 8 February 1989) is a Kenyan middle distance runner, who specialises in the 800 metres. His younger brother, Lawi Lalang, ran for the University of Arizona. Career At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Lalang barely missed running in the finals of the 800 m. At the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships, he won a silver medal in the 800 m. He ran a mile personal best of 3:56.14 at the Drake Relays, defeating training partner and race favourite Bernard Lagat in the process and went on to lower his time to 3:52.18 in Oslo, Norway.
