Athletics At The 2010 Commonwealth Games – Men's 100 Metres
The Men's 100 metres at the 2010 Commonwealth Games as part of the athletics programme was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday 6 October and Thursday 7 October 2010. The top three runners in each of the initial eight heats automatically qualified for the second round. The next eight fastest runners from across the heats also qualified. Those 32 runners competed in 4 heats in the second round, with the top four runners from each heat qualifying for the semifinals. There were two semifinals, and only the top three from each heat advanced to the final and the two fastest runners. 2010 Commonwealth Games
The 2010 Commonwealth Games (Hindi: 2010 राष्ट्रमण्डल खेल), officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010, was an international multi-sport event that was held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. Emmanuel Earl Callender (sometimes Callander; born 10 May 1984 in Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago) is a track and field sprint athlete, who competes internationally for Trinidad and Tobago. Callender represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He competed at the 4 × 100 m relay, together with Marc Burns, Aaron Armstrong, Keston Bledman and Richard Thompson. Aaron Rouge-Serret (born January 1988) is an Australian former athlete who competed as a sprinter. Raised in Melbourne, Rouge-Serret is the son of a Mauritian-born butcher and attended Caulfield Grammar School. Abdul Najeeb Qureshi (born ) is an Indian sprinter from Hyderabad. Najeeb, along with Anil Kumar Prakash, jointly held the 100 metres Indian national record of 10.30, before it being broken by Amiya Kumar Mallick. On 6 October 2010, Qureshi equalled the national 100 m record while qualifying for the semi-finals during the 2010 Commonwealth Games held at New Delhi, India. He clocked 10.30 s to equal Anil Kumar Prakash's national record set in 2005 at the National Circuit Athletic Meet held in New Delhi. Qureshi was also part of India's 4x100 relay team that won the bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The team set a new national record of 38.89s.
