Athletics At The 1964 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 Metres
The men's 200 metres was the second-shortest of the men's track races in the Athletics at the 1964 Summer Olympics program in Tokyo. 63 athletes from 48 nations entered, with 6 not starting in the first round. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. The first two rounds were held on 16 October, with the semifinals and the final on 17 October. The event was won by Henry Carr of the United States, the nation's 11th victory in the event. Fellow American Paul Drayton took silver; it was the fifth time in six Games that the United States had the top two finishers. Edwin Roberts gave Trinidad and Tobago its first medal in the men's 200 metres with his bronze. Olympic Stadium (Tokyo)
The Japan National Stadium, officially named and formerly known as or , is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football in Kasumigaokamachi, Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The facility served as the main stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the venue for track and field athletics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics in 2021. Andrzej Zieliński (athlete)
Andrzej Franciszek Zieliński (20 August 1936 – 8 December 2021) was a Polish athlete who mainly competed in the 100 metres. Career Zieliński was born in Warsaw, Second Polish Republic, Poland, on 20 August 1936. He competed for Poland in the 4 x 100 metre relay at the Athletics at the 1964 Summer Olympics, 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, where he won the silver medal with his teammates Wiesław Maniak, Marian Foik and Marian Dudziak. Iijima Hideo
is a retired Japanese sprint runner and professional baseball player. He competed at the 1964 and 1968 Olympics in the 100 m and 4 × 100 m relay events, but was eliminated in semifinals on all occasions. At the 1968 Games he ran his personal best in all competitions (10.24–10.34 seconds depending on the wind). After the 1968 Olympics Iijima became a professional baseball player. He retired in 1971 and for one year worked as a baseball coach.

Peter Radford
Peter Frank Radford (born 20 September 1939) is a former British athlete, who competed at 100 and 200 metres (and 100 and 220 yards), broke world records, and won Olympic medals, despite having been seriously ill as a child due to a hole in his kidney. Arquímedes Herrera
Arquímedes Herrera (August 8, 1935 – May 30, 2013) was a Venezuelan track and field athlete who competed in the sprint events and was ranked #4 in the world in the 100 m in 1963. As a teenager Herrera spent time in the Venezuelan military, taking up his athletics career after his discharge. He claimed three medals at the 1963 Pan American Games held in São Paulo, Brazil. Roger Bambuck
Roger Bambuck (born 22 November 1945 in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe) is a French former sprinter and politician. Athletic career Bambuck took part in his first Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964. At the 1966 European Championships in Budapest, he won the gold medal in the 200 m and in the 4 × 100 m relay, as well as the silver medal in the 100 m.
