The women's shot put event at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to take place on 30 July and 1 August 2021 at the Japan National Stadium. Approximately 35 athletes are expected to compete; the exact number will depend on how many nations use universality places to enter athletes in addition to the 32 qualifying through distance or ranking (2 universality places were used in 2016). Japan National Stadium
The Japan National Stadium, officially named and formerly known as or , is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football in Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Natalya Venediktovna Lisovskaya (russian: Наталья Венедиктовна Лисовская; born 16 July 1962) is a Soviet former athlete who competed mainly in shot put. Lisovskaya trained at Spartak in Moscow. Career Born in Alegazy, Bashkir ASSR, Lisovskaya competed for the USSR in the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul, South Korea where she won the gold medal. Lisovskaya holds the world record in women's shot put with a throw of , which she achieved on 7 June 1987 in Moscow, Russia. Vivian Peters-Chukwuemeka (born 4 May 1975) is a Nigerian shot putter and two-time Olympian. She won the gold medal in the shot put at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has won three consecutive titles at the All-Africa Games from 1999 to 2007.
