Athletics At The 2014 Commonwealth Games – Men's Shot Put
The Men's shot put at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as part of the athletics programme took place at Hampden Park on 27 and 28 July 2014. Results Qualifying round Final qualification mark was set at 20.00 metres, and athletes reaching that marked qualified for the final. Where less than twelve made the mark, the first twelve athletes were to qualify for the final as of right. In the event, three athletes qualified through reaching the mark; the next nine qualified for the final without reaching the mark. 2014 Commonwealth Games
The 2014 Commonwealth Games ( gd, Geamannan a' Cho-fhlaitheis 2014), officially known as the XX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Glasgow 2014, ( sco, Glesca 2014 or Glesga 2014; gd, Glaschu 2014), was an international multi-sport event celebrated in the tradition of the Commonwealth Games as governed by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). It took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014. Glasgow was selected as the host city on 9 November 2007 during CGF General Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka, defeating Abuja, Nigeria. It was the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland with around 4,950 athletes from 71 different nations and territories competing in 18 different sports, outranking the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Scott Rider
Scott Rider (born 22 September 1977) is a British bobsledder, shot putter and Highland games competitor. Biography Rider joined the British bobsleigh team in 2000, and he competed in the four man event at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where he and his team-mates finished 11th. In shot putting, Rider represented England at three Commonwealth Games, in 2006, 2010 and 2014, finishing in the top ten in all three tournaments. He was also British outdoor champion in the shot put in 2014 and British indoor champion in 2003 and 2013. He is a member of Birchfield Harriers athletics club. At the Highland games, Rider won the World Highland Games Championships in 2016. He was also World Caber Champion in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Ryan Jones (athlete)
Ryan Paul Jones (born 13 March 1981) is a Wales former international rugby union player who played at number eight, blindside flanker or second row. He was involved in three Grand Slam wins, in 2005, as captain in 2008, and 2012. He is one of a small group of Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams including Gerald Davies, Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams, Adam Jones, Gethin Jenkins and Alun Wyn Jones. Stephen Ogochukwu Mozia (born August 16, 1993) is a US-born Nigerian shot putter. He is a three-time African Championships Bronze medallist. He also represented his country at the 2014 and 2016 World Indoor Championships, as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics.
