The men's javelin throw was a track and field athletics event held as part of the athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the second appearance of the event. The competition was held on Saturday, July 6, 1912. Twenty-five javelin throwers from seven nations competed. NOCs could enter up to 12 athletes.Official report, p. 61. Stockholm Olympic Stadium
Stockholm Olympic Stadium ( sv, Stockholms Olympiastadion), most often called Stockholms stadion or (especially locally) simply Stadion, is a stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. Designed by architect Torben Grut, it was opened in 1912; its original use was as a venue for the 1912 Olympic Games. At the 1912 Games, it hosted athletics, some equestrian and football matches, gymnastics, the running part of the modern pentathlon, tug of war, and wrestling events. Arne Halse
Arne Halse (20 October 1887 – 3 July 1975) was a Norwegian athlete who specialized in the different forms of javelin throw. He represented ''Trondhjems IF'' and later ''SK Brage'', both in Trondheim. At the 1906 Summer Olympics he finished seventh in the freestyle javelin throw. At the 1908 Summer Olympics he won a silver medal in the regular javelin throw, a bronze medal in freestyle and finished fifth in shot put.
