''Astérix et ses amis'' (English - ''Asterix and his friends'') is a tribute volume published in 2007 by Les Editions Albert René. The full original title is ''Astérix et ses Amis – Hommage à Albert Uderzo'' ("Asterix and his friends – homage to Albert Uderzo""). It was released to pay tribute to Albert Uderzo, for his 80th birthday. Not part of the original Asterix series, it is made up of several short stories drawn and written by various renowned comics artists. Jean Van Hamme
Jean, knight Van Hamme (born 16 January 1939) is a Belgian novelist and comic book writer. He has written scripts for a number of Belgian/French comic series, including ''Histoire sans héros'', ''Thorgal'', ''XIII'' and ''Largo Winch''. Biography Early years After studying business administration at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, he worked as a journalist and in the marketing department of Philips. In the meantime, he started writing, and one of his first scripts was adapted by Paul Cuvelier in 1968. This erotic comic named Epoxy was published by the controversial publisher Éric Losfeld, who prior to that also had published similarly themed comics like Jean-Claude Forest's Barbarella and Robert Gigi's Scarlett Dream. Achdé
Achdé (), the pseudonym of Hervé Darmenton (; born July 30, 1961), is a French comic book writer and artist. The pseudonym is based on the French pronunciation of his initials, "H.D." (similar to Hergé and Jijé). After the death of Morris, the creator of ''Lucky Luke'', Achdé continued the task of drawing new ''Lucky Luke'' stories from 2003 onwards. Career Before dedicating himself to his craft, Achdé worked as a doctor with a specialty in radiology, but abandoned a career in medicine in 1985 to dedicate himself fully to drawing. He began illustrating newspapers and self-published ''Destins Croisés'', his first comic book, in 1988. He joined the French publishing house Dargaud in 1991 and created several new series, alone and in partnership, including ''Fort Braillard'', ''Woker'' (which concerns an interplanetary Tarzan), and ''Doc Véto''. ''Thorgal'' is a fantasy adventure Franco-Belgian comics series by Belgian writer Jean Van Hamme and Polish graphic artist Grzegorz Rosiński.
