Association Of Contract Players
The Association of Contract Players ( nl, Vereniging van Contractspelers — VVCS) is the trade union for professional football players in the Netherlands. Established on 1 January 1961, it is a member of the Dutch Federation of Trade Unions and one of the three founding members of FIFPro, whom they share offices with. Initiatives set up by the association include the VVCS Academy, which help players earn a diploma during their football careers, and Team VVCS, a team consisting of out-of-contract players looking for a new club. Evgeniy Levchenko
Yevhen Viktorovych Levchenko, also known as Evgeniy Levchenko ( uk, Євген Вікторович Левченко; born 2 January 1978 in Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a retired Ukrainian-Dutch footballer. The main participant of the Russian version of the show '' The Bachelor-Kholostyak'' on Russian Televisional Channel TNT. Club career Yevhen started out his football career in 1993 at local club Metalurh Kostiantynivka. The following year he was transferred to Shakhtar Donetsk, one of the best football clubs in Ukraine. Two seasons later, in 1996, Levchenko moved to a Russian club CSKA Moskva, from where he progressed to Vitesse Arnhem, and finally Helmond Sport. In 1998, Yevhen joined Cambuur Leeuwarden, where he played for two years. He played for Vitesse Arnhem again from the year 2000 until 2003, when he switched to Sparta Rotterdam. Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging
The Federation of Dutch Trade Unions ( nl, Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging, FNV) is a national trade union centre in the Netherlands. In addition to member unions, workers in many sectors can join the FNV directly. History The FNV was founded in 1976 from the merger of the Dutch Catholic Trade Union Federation (NKV) and the social-democratic Dutch Confederation of Trade Unions (NVV). The Protestant Christian National Trade Union Federation (CNV) originally also participated in the talks, but it refused to fully merge into a new union. The federation was founded because of declining membership, due to depillarisation and increasing political polarisation between left and right. The first president of the FNV was Wim Kok, who had been chair of NVV since 1973. He remained its leader until 1986, when he entered parliament for the Dutch Labour Party. Gerard Kerkum
Gerard Kerkum (17 December 1930 – 26 May 2018) was a Dutch footballer and was twice chairman of Dutch football team Feyenoord Rotterdam. Kerkum, born in Rotterdam, played a total of 349 matches in Feyenoord's (Feijenoord in those days) first team from 1951 to 1965. He was the team's captain for many years and scored a total of 13 goals for the club. He played one match for the Dutch national team. After his career Kerkum entered the Feyenoord staff and board before he became the first and to present only former Feyenoord player to be chairman of the club in 1982. He stayed at the club until 1989, when Feyenoord suffered with financial problems and was succeeded by Jorien van den Herik. In 1984 Feyenoord won the double, winning both the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup. Trade Unions In The Netherlands
Trade Unions play a major role in the corporatist Dutch economy. Dynamics In 2001 about 25% of the Dutch people who were employed were organized in a union. There are three major unions: the Christian-democratic " Christelijk Nationaal Vakverbond (CNV)", the social-democratically oriented " Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging (FNV)" and the " Federation of Managerial and Professional Staff Unions (MHP)". All are federations of sector-based labour unions. The FNV is with about 1,4 million members the largest of the three. The CNV has 350.000 members and the MHP 160.000. The FNV has 17 affiliate unions, the CNV 11 and the MHP 4. Danny Petrus Hesp (born 19 October 1969) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender. Football career Born in Amsterdam, Hesp started at local Ajax, but only appeared in nine Eredivisie games in three seasons combined, all in his first. A very promising player, he broke his leg after a sliding tackle in 1988 and never fully recovered to reach his full potential. Jim Janssen Van Raaij
James "Jim" Leonard Janssen van Raay (1 June 1931 – 11 February 2010) was a Dutch lawyer and politician. Biography Van Raaij was born in 1931 in Mentok, then part of the Dutch East Indies. As a teenager he was placed in a civilian internment camp run by the Japanese during the Second World War. He arrived in the Netherlands in 1946 and started a career as a lawyer. In 1961 he was involved in the foundation of the Association of Contract Players, a union for professional football players in the Netherlands. Van Raaij died in early 2010 at the age of 77 in a hospital in The Hague. Politics Van Raaij became involved in the Christian Historical Union and was appointed as its national secretary. In 1980, he was a founding member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). Roel Wiersma
Roel Wiersma (, 15 April 1932 – 4 February 1995) was a Dutch footballer, who most notably played for PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands national team. Wiersma was born in Hilversum and played for amateur side Donar until 1954, when he was signed by PSV Eindhoven. He played at the club for ten seasons, making 316 league appearances. Wiersma served as captain for many years; most notably in 1963 when his team won the Eredivisie title. Between 1954 and 1962, he also played 53 caps for Netherlands national team.
