The Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (, "Association of Writers in the Catalan Language", or "Association of Catalan-Language Writers"), also known by the acronym AELC, is a professional organisation of authors, poets, scriptwriters, translators and other writers in the Catalan language. Joan Fuster
Joan Fuster i Ortells (; 23 November 1922 – 21 June 1992) was an influential Spanish writer. He is considered a major writer in the Valencian language (a dialect of the Catalan language), and his work contributed to reinvigorate left-wing, pro-Catalan nationalism in Valencia during the Spanish transition to democracy. In his influential political essay Nosaltres, els valencians (1962) he coined the term ''Països Catalans'' (Catalan Countries) to refer to the Catalan-speaking territories. Life and works He was born in the village of Sueca near Valencia, Spain, in a relatively prosperous middle-class family. Both his parents were pious Roman Catholics and Carlists. Antònia Vicens
Antònia Vicens i Picornell (born 1941) is a Majorcan writer in the Catalan language. She is a recipient of the Premi Sant Jordi de novel·la prize and the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes. Biography Antònia Vicens i Picornell was born in 1941 in Santanyí, Balearic Islands. Her first published book was a collection of short stories, ''Banc de fusta ''. Her novel, ''39º a l'ombra'', was awarded the Premi Sant Jordi de novel·la prize in 1967. In 1977, she joined the board of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana, serving as vice president for the Balearic Islands. Bel Olid
Bel Olid Báez (born 4 October 1977) is a Catalan writer, translator, and teacher of language, literature, translation, and creative writing. They have received several literary prizes, among them the 2010 . From 2015 to 2022, they were the president of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
