Assen () is a municipality and a city in the northeastern Netherlands, and is the capital (politics), capital of the province of Drenthe. It received City rights in the Netherlands, city rights in 1809. Assen is known for TT Circuit Assen, the motorcycle sport, motorcycle racing circuit, where on the last Sunday in June the Dutch TT is run; and also for the annual Assen Dance Festival. Assen Emilov Blatechki ( bg, Асен Емилов Блатечки; born 22 March 1971) is a Bulgarian actor. Acting and television career Blatechki appeared in a number of Bulgarian films including ''Steps in the Sand"'' (Bulgarian: ''Стъпки в пясъка'') and ''The Foreigner'' (Bulgarian: ''Чужденецът''). Assen Bossev
Assen Bossev () (22 November 1913 – 24 April 1997) was a prominent Bulgarian author of children's literature, as well as a translator from Russian. He was born in the village of Ruska Bela, Vratsa region. He was educated there as well as in the town of Berkovitsa. Afterwards Bossev was a teacher for a certain period of time. He settled in Sofia, where he graduated in law and diplomacy. Assen Najdenow
Assen Najdenow ( bg, Асен Найденов; 12 September 1899 – 10 September 1995) was a Bulgarian conductor. Life Najdenov was born in 1899 in Varna on the Black Sea. In his childhood, he learned the violin and the piano. In 1905, his uncle brought a grand piano from Russia. Already as a pupil he played in the city orchestra as a violinist from 1912 to 1914. In 1920, he studied composition in Vienna with Joseph Marx and piano with Paul de Conne. Assen Pandov
Assen Pandov (Bulgarian: Асен Пандов; born June 15, 1984, in Sofia) is a Bulgarian short track speed skater. Pandov competed at the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics for Bulgaria. In 2002, he finished 4th in his heat of the 500 metres, failing to advance. In 2010, he placed 4th in his opening race of the 1000 metres, again failing to advance. In both races, he placed 31st overall. As of 2013, Pandov's best performance at the World Championships came in 2010, as part of the Bulgarian 5000m relay team, when he placed 7th. His best individual finish is 16th, in the 500m in 2011. Assen Raztsvetnikov ( bg, Асен Разцветников; born Assen Petkov Kolarov, Асен Петков Коларов; 2 November 1897 – 30 July 1951) was a Bulgarian poet, writer and translator. Biography Early years Assen Raztsvetnikov was born in a family that owned a substantial estate in the countryside. His father was a teacher. His mother was of a fine voice and was renowned for her performances of folklore songs that she learned from the grandfather of young Raztsvetnikov, Peter who was a fiddler. Raztsvetnikov graduated from the Veliko Turnovo high school in 1916. He then went on to work at the Veliko Turnovo communication center and later on at the postal telegraph service at Gorna Oryahovitsa station. He studied Slavic philology at Sofia University (1920), and after obtaining his degree travelled to attend lectures in aesthetics in Vienna and Berlin (1921–1922).
