Ashite Ashiona
''Ashite Ashiona'' ( bn, ৮০তে আসিওনা) is a 1967 comedic Bengali film directed by Sree Jayadrath. The film stars Bhanu Banerjee, Asit Baran, Rabi Ghosh, Ruma Guha Thakurta, Jahor Roy, Tarun Kumar Chatterjee in lead roles. Synopsis A neglected octogenarian, Sadananda (played by Bhanu Bandopadhyay) stumbles upon a miraculous discovery. Fed up with the ill-treatment meted out to him and his wife ( Ruma Guha Thakurta) by his children, he yearns for an escape from this existence. Accidentally, he finds a solution to all the problems plaguing him in his old-age. He discovers a pond where on taking a dip one can regain his youth. When he transforms into a handsome young man after having taken a dip, many are forced to accept the miracle as real and all hell breaks loose. Bhanu Bandyopadhyay, also known as Bhanu Banerjee (born as Samyamoy Bandyopadhyay; 26 August 1920 – 4 March 1983), was an Indian actor, known for his work in Bengali cinema. He acted in over 300 movies, in numerous plays and performed frequently on the radio. Early life Bhanu Bandyopadhyay was born on 26 August 1920 at Dhaka town, Bengal in a Kulin Brahmin family. Asit Baran (19 November 1913 – 27 November 1984) was an Indian actor, singer and theater personality. Early life Asit Baran was born as Asit Baran Mukherjee in 1913 in Kolkata, British India. His nickname was Kalo. He took up a job in the telegraph workshop at Alipore. He learnt Tabla from Jnan Prakash Ghosh and joined in Akashbani Kolkata as Tabla player. While performing Tabla in All India Radio Music Conference, actor Pahari Sanyal impressed on him. Asit Baran often called upon to sing at various music functions in Kolkata. Kamal Mitra
Kamal Mitra was an Indian actor who appeared in more than 90 films spanning more than four decades. Along with Chhabi Biswas (1900–1962) and Pahari Sanyal (1906–1974) he dominated the Bengali silver screen as a character actor. Mitra played a number of prominent roles in mythological and social movies. His baritone voice and imposing physicality often saw him cast in roles of strict authoritative characters.
