Ashes By Now
"Ashes by Now" is a song written by Rodney Crowell. It has since been recorded several by times by various musical artists in the country music format. The song was first recorded by Crowell himself, eventually releasing it as a single in 1980. Rodney Crowell version Crowell originally recorded "Ashes by Now" in January 1978 in Los Angeles, California. The recording session featured musician Ricky Skaggs playing the fiddle, among other prominent session musicians of the period. Before its release as a single, it served as the b-side to his 1978 single "Elvira." The song was later re-released in April 1980 as the A-side single via Warner Bros. Rodney Crowell (born August 7, 1950) is an American musician, known primarily for his work as a singer and songwriter in country music. Crowell has had five number one singles on Hot Country Songs, all from his 1988 album '' Diamonds & Dirt''. He has also written songs and produced for other artists. He was influenced by songwriters Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. Crowell played guitar and sang for three years in Emmylou Harris' Hot Band. He has won two Grammy Awards in his career, one in 1990 for Best Country Song for the song " After All This Time" and one in 2014 Best Americana Album for his album ''Old Yellow Moon''. Mark Wright (record Producer)
Mark Wright (born 1957 in Fayetteville, Arkansas) is an American record producer who works mainly in country music. He is known for having worked with Brooks & Dunn, Gary Allan, and Lee Ann Womack. Career Wright was originally a songwriter, having written for Reba McEntire, Amy Grant, and Kenny Rogers. By 1989, he had moved to RCA Records, where he worked in A&R and co-produced Clint Black's debut album '' Killin' Time''. He also produced ''Too Cold at Home'' for Mark Chesnutt, and became senior vice president of MCA Nashville's sister label Decca Records in 1994 until its closure in 1999.
