Asche (band)
Asche is a German musical project, one which encompasses the spectrum of noise, power electronics, and droning ambient. It is a staple act of Germany’s industrial and power noise record label, Ant-Zen. Members / History Asche’s lineup consists of one man, Andreas Schramm. The term Asche is German for "ash", but is also an allusion to Schramm's name, which as often credited as A. Schramm. Industrial Music
Industrial music is a genre of music that draws on harsh, mechanical, transgressive or provocative sounds and themes. AllMusic defines industrial music as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music" that was "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments (tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation". The term was coined in the mid-1970s with the founding of Industrial Records by members of Throbbing Gristle and Monte Cazazza. While the genre name originated with Throbbing Gristle's emergence in the United Kingdom, artists and labels vital to the genre also emerged in the United States and other countries. Ars Moriendi
The ''Ars moriendi'' ("The Art of Dying") are two related Latin texts dating from about 1415 and 1450 which offer advice on the protocols and procedures of a good death, explaining how to "die well" according to Christian precepts of the late Middle Ages. It was written within the historical context of the effects of the macabre horrors of the Black Death 60 years earlier and consequent social upheavals of the 15th century. The earliest versions were most likely composed in southern Germany. It was very popular, translated into most West European languages, and was the first in a western literary tradition of guides to death and dying. About 50,000 copies were printed in the ''incunabula'' period before 1501 and further editions were printed after 1501. Its popularity reduced as Erasmus's treatise on preparing for death (''de praeparatione ad mortem'', 1533) became more popular. Morgenstern is the name of a musical project combining noise, industrial, and ambient music. It is a continuing act of Germany's Ant-Zen record label. History Morgenstern was founded in 1993 by Andrea Börner. The word "Morgenstern" means "Morning star." Börner was a founding member of the industrial/ punk crossover band Ars Moriendi.
