''As the Palaces Burn'' is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God, released under Prosthetic Records on May 6, 2003. The album was produced by Devin Townsend and the band itself, and received considerably more airplay than their previous effort, with three singles. As of 2013, ''As The Palaces Burn'' has sold 270,000 copies since its original release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The band released a 10th anniversary edition of the album on November 11, 2013, with all songs in the album being remixed and remastered, alongside three bonus demo tracks. The 10th-anniversary edition of the album sold around 6,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 64 on ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Lamb of God (sometimes abbreviated as LoG) is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group consists of bassist John Campbell, vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, and drummer Art Cruz. The band is considered a significant member of the new wave of American heavy metal movement. Razor & Tie was an American entertainment company that consisted of a record label and a music publishing company. It was established in 1990 by Craig Balsam and Cliff Chenfeld. Chris Poland (born December 1, 1957) is an American guitarist, best known as the former guitarist of the thrash metal band Megadeth. Christopher James Adler (born November 23, 1972) is an American musician, best known as the founder and longtime drummer of heavy metal band Lamb of God from 1994 to 2019, and of Megadeth from 2015 to 2016. Adler played drums on Megadeth's fifteenth album, ''Dystopia'', and performed some touring dates in support of that album, as well as the touring and creative obligations with Lamb of God. Mark Morton (guitarist)
Mark Duane Morton (born November 25, 1972) is an American musician and digital projects manager who is the lead guitarist and one of the founding members of the heavy metal band Lamb of God. Early life Morton grew up near Williamsburg, Virginia. His first band was Axis, which was composed of other local youth, one being Ryan Lake of Alabama Thunderpussy fame. Morton played rhythm guitar. The band became a popular local act winning the local battle of the bands competition, known as Stockwood, in 1988. Career Morton, Chris Adler, and John Campbell met in 1990 at Virginia Commonwealth University where they were room mates. Several years later, they formed a band under the name "Burn the Priest".
