Aruban Division Di Honor
Aruban Division di Honor or Campeonato AVB Aruba Bank is the top level association football league in Aruba. It is overseen by the Arubaanse Voetbal Bond and was created in 1960. Up to and including 1985, the top clubs from Aruba also entered the Kopa Antiano for the championship of the Netherlands Antilles, RCA and Estrella were the only Aruban teams to win that championship in 1965 and 1970. The winner of the league starts the qualifications for the CONCACAF Champions Cup from the first round of the CFU Club Championship. The 10th-placed team is relegated to the Division Uno, while the 8th and the 9th-placed teams play a 4-team round-robin with the 2nd and the 3rd of the second level to decide the relegation from or the promotion to the Division di Honor. The 2022–23 Aruban Division di Honor was the 62nd season of the Division di Honor, the top division football competition in Aruba. The season began on 9 September 2022. Aruba Football Federation
The Arubaanse Voetbal Bond is the governing body of football in Aruba. Its headquarters are at Frans Figaroa sports complex in the city of Noord. It's a member of FIFA and is responsible for governing amateur and professional football, including the men's, and youth national teams. The AVB is also responsible for sanctioning referees and football tournaments for most football leagues in Aruba. Professional Leagues The Division di Honor is the first division football league in Aruba. It comprises 10 teams and is fed by Division One, and Division Two. SV Britannia
Sport Vereniging Britannia is an Aruban football club, which currently plays in Aruba's first division. They are based in Piedra Plat. History SV Britannia was founded in 1958, when an official football team was organised for the local youngsters in Piedra Plat and vicinity. They played their first game in 1960, when beating Vitesse Cashero 3–1. Savaneta, Aruba
Savaneta is a town and region in southeastern Aruba. Until 1797, it was the island's capital city. It is home to the island's oldest surviving home, a 150-year-old ''cas di torto'', or mud hut. The Savaneta region has an estimated area of 27.76 square kilometers and 11,518 inhabitants according to the 2010 census. History Savaneta is the oldest village of Aruba. In the 16th century, it became the capital of the Spanish administration. After Aruba was conquered by the Netherlands, the governor lived in Commander's Bay, a natural harbour near Savaneta. In 1797, the government moved to Paardenbaai which would later become Oranjestad. By 1816, only one house had remained inhabited. Tanki Leendert
Tanki Leendert is a town in Noord on the island of Aruba. The parish of Tanki Leendert has been split from Noord since 1968. History Tanki is Papiamento for "pond", and Leendert is a common surname. An Amerindian village has been discovered near the town measuring 450 by 400 metres. It is one of the four known Amerindian settlements on Aruba. European pottery, pipes and bottles from the 18th century have also been discovered on the same site, suggesting a later resettlement. In the 20th century, Noord became the centre for the tourism industry and site of large scale hotel construction which has resulted in Tanki Leendert, Noord, Paradera and Tanki Flip merging into a near continuous urban area. In 1968, the parish of Tanki Leendert was split of Noord, and the Monte Calvario Church was inaugurated. The Museum of Antiquities Aruba is located in Tanki Leendert. Santa Cruz is a Region and Town in central Aruba, dominated by the Arikok National Park. The town is connected by Highway 7 from west to east and Highway 4 from north to south. Palm Beach is a tourism district about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) northwest of Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba.
