Arthur Dixon (footballer, Born 1892)
Arthur Dixon (4 July 1892 – 25 December 1965) was an English footballer who played as a central defender, primarily for Rangers where he played between 1917 and 1926. He later became trainer at the club and assistant to manager Bill Struth after his retirement from playing. He also featured for Oldham Athletic in England, and for St Mirren and Cowdenbeath in Scotland. He was the father of footballer Arthur Dixon. Playing career Chadderton, Lancashire-born Dixon began his career at hometown club Oldham Athletic, and was part of the squad that finished runners-up in the English Football League in 1914–15, one point behind champions Everton. William Wilton
William Wilton (9 June 1865 – 2 May 1920) was a Scottish football player, administrator and manager. He was the first manager of Rangers Football Club, serving in that position from 1899 until his death in 1920, and leading Rangers to nine major trophies. He had previously served as Rangers' match secretary to the reserve and first teams. Early life William Wilton was born at Blyth's Land on Nelson Street in Largs, Ayrshire on 9 June 1865, the son of James Wilton, a stonemason from the Isle of Arran, and Janet Smith, a weaver from Paisley. Thomas Cairns (30 October 1892 – 30 November 1967) was a Scottish footballer who played for Bristol City, Peebles Rovers, St Johnstone, Rangers, Bradford City and Scotland. Career Club Born in Merryton, Lanarkshire, Cairns made his name in Junior football, helping Burnbank Athletic to the Scottish Junior Cup in 1911. Carl Vilhelm "Skoma'r" Hansen, simply known as Carl "Skoma'r" (17 May 1898 – 19 May 1978), was a Danish association football player and coach. He played in the forward position, and won the Danish championship with Boldklubben 1903 before moving abroad to play for Scottish club Rangers F.C. as the first professional player in Danish football history. With Rangers, he won four Scottish championships. Hansen played seven games and scored three goals for the Denmark national football team, and was a part of the Denmark team at the 1920 Summer Olympics. Alan Lauder Morton (24 April 1893 – 12 December 1971) was a Scottish footballer who played as a outside left for Queen's Park, Rangers and Scotland. Playing career Club Morton was born in the Jordanhill district of Glasgow. He grew up in Airdrie, where his family relocated due to his father's work. After leaving Airdrie Academy he had an unsuccessful trial with Airdrieonians. Consequently, he entered studies to become a mining engineer while playing with Queen's Park, the famous amateur club. Once fully qualified in 1920 he turned professional, becoming Bill Struth's first signing as manager of Rangers, but only on the proviso that he could maintain his position as a mining engineer. Thomas Allan Muirhead (24 January 1897 – 27 May 1979) was a Scottish footballer who played for Hibernian, Rangers and Scotland. Playing career Hibernian and Rangers Muirhead, a forward who was occasionally deployed as a half-back, was signed by Rangers for £20 from Hibernian in May 1917. He made his debut against his former club in a 3–0 win at Ibrox on 15 September 1917, although he did not become a regular until the following season. Alexander "Sandy" Archibald (23 November 1896 – 29 November 1946) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Raith Rovers, Rangers and Scotland. He was later secretary/manager of Raith and Dunfermline Athletic. William McCandless (20 December 1893 – 18 July 1955) was an Ireland national football team (IFA), Irish international football player and manager. Bert Manderson (9 May 1893 – 27 April 1946) was an Irish footballer who played as a right-back for Rangers and Ireland. Playing career Manderson made his Rangers debut in a 1–1 draw with Aberdeen on 27 March 1915. He had joined Rangers from Glenavon for £150. Thomas Hamilton (1906–1964) was a Scottish footballer, who is best known for his time with Rangers. He was a goalkeeper. Career Hamilton began his career at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. He joined Rangers in 1923, but had to wait until 31 October 1925 to make his debut; the gamed ended in a 1–0 away defeat to Raith Rovers. During the 1928 Scottish Cup Final in front of a crowd of 118,115 he made an important save to deny Celtic's Paddy Connolly whilst the game was goalless. Rangers went on to win the match 4–0 with a brace from Sandy Archibald and Davie Meiklejohn and Bob McPhail scoring one apiece.
