Freddie Young
Frederick A. Young (9 October 1902 – 1 December 1998) was a British cinematographer. He is probably best known for his work on David Lean's films ''Lawrence of Arabia'' (1962), ''Doctor Zhivago'' (1965) and ''Ryan's Daughter'' (1970), all three of which won him Academy Awards for Best Cinematography. He was often credited as F. A. Young. Al Hunter Ashton (26 June 1957 – 27 April 2007), born Alan Hunter, was an English actor and script writer. Life Hunter was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, and came from a working-class background. Born Alan Hunter (he later changed his name by deed poll to Al Hunter), he wrote scripts for his own amusement from the age of 15; he worked in his spare time as a stand-up comedian in clubs for £15 a night but became a stripper on discovering that he could earn the same amount for shedding his clothes every evening. "My stripping routine was actually funnier than my stand-up one," he said. He acted under the name "Al Ashton", choosing this to ensure he appeared high up in any alphabetical credits. Derek Benfield (11 March 1926 – 10 March 2009) was a British playwright and actor. He was born in Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, and educated at Bingley Grammar School. He was the author of the stage farce ''Running Riot'' and played Patricia Routledge's character's husband in ''Hetty Wainthropp Investigates'' (1996–1998). Arguably Benfield's best known character portrayal was as transport company foreman Bill Riley in the UK television series '' The Brothers'' in the early 1970s.
