"Arms Around the World" is a song by English singer Louise Redknapp, Louise, released on 22 September 1997 as the lead single from her second studio album, ''Woman in Me (Louise album), Woman in Me'' (1997). It appeared on several music charts, peaking at number four on the UK Singles Chart in September 1997. As reported by the Official Charts Company in January 2020, "Arms Around the World" has sold 159,000 copies in the UK. The video was directed by Toby Tremlett. Critical reception Jon O'Brien from AllMusic viewed "Arms Around the World" as a Janet Jackson-inspired track, adding that it sounds like her 1995 song "Runaway (Janet Jackson song), Runaway". British magazine ''Music Week'' rated it three out of five, writing further that "Louise attempts to do a Kylie Minogue, Kylie with a more complex and mature sound, but her efforts are let down by an unsubstantial song lacking any real sparkle." Louise Redknapp
Louise Elizabeth Redknapp (née Nurding, born 4 November 1974) is an English singer, songwriter and media personality. She was a member of Eternal, an R&B girl group which debuted in 1993 with their quadruple-platinum studio album '' Always & Forever''. In 1995, she departed from the group for a solo career, in which she released the albums ''Naked'' (1996), '' Woman in Me'' (1997) and ''Elbow Beach'' (2000). Aside from music, Louise has presented several television shows and was a judge on the UK version of ''So You Think You Can Dance''. She was married to the English former footballer Jamie Redknapp. In 2016, Louise reached the final in the fourteenth series of BBC One's '' Strictly Come Dancing''. In January 2020 following a 17-year hiatus from recording Redknapp released '' Heavy Love'' to critical acclaim. The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. Fire Island are an English house music duo, made up of producers and remixers Pete Heller and Terry Farley. Both are prolific musicians who have an extensive list of remixes to their credit, using the Fire Island moniker and also being billed as Heller & Farley Project, Roach Motel or Farley & Heller. As Fire Island, they hit number one on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1998 with " Shout to the Top", a song originally recorded by the Style Council in 1984 and with lead vocals supplied by Loleatta Holloway.
