The Iranian Armed Forces, officially the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces, are the combined military forces of Iran, comprising the Islamic Republic of Iran Army (''Artesh''), the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (''Sepah'') and the Police Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Police Command (''Faraja''). Iranian Armed Forces are the largest in the Middle East in terms of active troops. Iran's military forces are made up of approximately 610,000 Active duty, active-duty personnel plus 350,000 Military reserve, reserve and trained personnel that can be mobilized when needed, bringing the country's military manpower to about 960,000 total personnel. The Defense Industries Organization (DIO) is a conglomerate of companies run by the Islamic Republic of Iran whose function is to provide the Armed Forces with the necessary manufacturing capacity and technical abilities. Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO) is an Iranian ship yard, located in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz (37 km west Bandar Abbas City), active as shipbuilder and ship-repairer of different types of vessels and offshore structures. ISOICO is a subsidiary of IDRO. History In October 2006, a new company has been established in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas to repair various types of ocean liners.
