Armaan (1953 Film)
''Arman'' () is a 1953 Indian Hindi, Hindi-language Romance film, romantic drama film directed and produced by Fali Mistry. The music is composed by S. D. Burman. ''Arman'' revolves around Radha (Madhubala), a peasant girl who is fostered by her dead father's loyal servant Ramdas (Jagirdar) so that she does not fall in clutches of her treacherous uncle Bahadur Singh (K. N. Singh). Dev Anand stars as Radha's love interest Madan. ''Arman'' was theatrically released on 19 August 1953 and received mixed reviews from critics. Madhubala's and Jagirdar's performances were praised; but the music and Anand's performance were sharply criticised. Nevertheless, the film became a box office success. Manna Dey
Prabodh Chandra Dey (May 1, 1919 − October 24, 2013), known by his stage name Manna Dey, was an internationally acclaimed and celebrated Indian playback singer, music director, and a musician. As a classical vocalist, he belonged to the Bhendibazaar Gharana and was trained under Ustad Aman Ali Khan. Talat Mahmood (24 February 1924 – 9 May 1998) was an Indian playback singer who is considered one of the popular male Indian film song and ghazal singers. Although he tried his luck as a film actor, he did not succeed a great deal in acting. Talat Mahmood received the Padma Bhushan award in 1992, in recognition of his artistic contributions in the spheres of cinematic and ghazal music. Shakila (1 January 1935 – 20 September 2017) was an Indian actress, best known for her roles in Guru Dutt's films: ''Aar Paar'' (1954) and '' C.I.D.'' (1956). Shakila's was born as Badshah Begum on 1 January 1935 in the Middle East. Her younger sisters are Noor Jehan (nicknamed Noor) and Nasreen. Fali Mistry
Fali Mistry (1919–1979) was an Indian cinematographer, who worked in Bollywood films, from the 1940s to 1980, both in black and white and colour cinema, and along with younger brother Jal Mistry, he was one of the most acclaimed cinematographers of his era. He also produced and directed a few films. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer twice, ''Guide'' (colour) (1967) and ''Fakira'' (1977). A lost film is a feature or short film that no longer exists in any studio archive, private collection, public archive or the U.S. Library of Congress. Conditions During most of the 20th century, U.S. copyright law required at least one copy of every American film to be deposited at the Library of Congress at the time of copyright registration, but the Librarian of Congress was not required to retain those copies: "Under the provisions of the act of March 4, 1909, authority is granted for the return to the claimant of copyright of such copyright deposits as are not required by the Library."
