Arleta Station
Arleta station is a light rail station on the Muni Metro T Third Street line in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, California on the south slope of Candlestick Hill. The station opened with the T Third Street line on January 13, 2007. It has a single island platform located in the median of Bayshore Boulevard between Arleta Avenue and Blanken Avenue, with access from crosswalks at both streets. Arleta is the closest Muni Metro stop to the Caltrain station at Bayshore station, which is to the south. The station is also served by Muni bus routes , , (a pair of weekday peak hours express services), , (a limited-stop rapid service), and (an All Nighter service) plus the and bus routes, which provide service along the T Third Street line during the early morning and late night hours respectively when trains do not operate. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Caltrain
Caltrain (reporting mark JPBX) is a California commuter rail line serving the San Francisco Peninsula and Santa Clara Valley (Silicon Valley). The southern terminus is in San Jose at Tamien station with weekday rush hour service running as far as Gilroy. The northern terminus of the line is in San Francisco at 4th and King Streets. Bayshore Station (Caltrain)
Bayshore station is a Caltrain commuter rail station in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The station is on the border of San Francisco and the neighboring city of Brisbane. The parking lot and the northern section of the station are in San Francisco, while the remainder is in Brisbane. The station address is in San Francisco proper. Bayshore has four tracks: two side tracks for trains stopping at the station, and two in the middle for trains that do not stop at the station. A centerline fence prevents passengers from crossing the four tracks. T Third Street
The T Third Street is a Muni Metro light rail line in San Francisco, California. It runs along the east side of San Francisco — primarily in the median of Third Street — from to the Market Street subway. It is interlined with the K Ingleside line, forming a single service running between Sunnydale and . The line serves 21 surface stations, all of which are accessible.
