Arizona's 29th Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, situated in central Maricopa County. As of 2021, there are 33 precincts in the district, with a total registered voter population of 95,481. The district has an overall population of 247,936. Martín Quezada
Martín J. Quezada is a former Democratic member of the Arizona Senate serving from 2015 to 2023. He is also a member of the Pendergast Elementary School District Governing Board, serving since 2011. He was previously a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2013 to 2015. Quezada is also an attorney in private practice, and has served his community in a number of different roles. He previously served as a research analyst and policy adviser to the Arizona state house Democratic caucus. On September 30, 2021, Martin Quezada entered the 2022 election for State Treasurer of Arizona, but lost the general election to incumbent Treasurer Kimberly Yee. Cesar Chavez (legislator)
Cesar Chavez (born October 30, 1987) is a Mexican-American singer and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Arizona House of Representatives, representing Arizona's 29th legislative district, from 2017 to 2023. Prior to entering politics, Chavez travelled internationally as a Mariachi vocalist. Chavez is a 2022 candidate to fill the open seat of outgoing State Senator Martín Quezada. The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members. As with the Arizona House of Representatives, members to the Senate are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, however one Senator represents the constituency, while for the House there are two Representatives per district. The Arizona State House of Representatives is the lower house of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Arizona. The upper house is the Senate.
