Archive Of Public Protests
The Archive of Public Protests ( pl, Archiwum Protestów Publicznych; A-P-P or APP) is a collective of photographers and writers and their work documenting post-2015 protests in Poland, established in 2019. A website and an Instagram account host its images and it also publishes ''Strike Newspaper''. Members of the collective include co-founder Rafał Milach as well as Adam Lach and Chris Niedenthal. The collective has been nominated for the Spojrzenia award as well as the Paszport Polityki, and has had an exhibition of its work at Labyrinth Gallery in Lublin. Rafał Milach
Rafał Milach (born 1978) is a Polish visual artist and photographer. His work is about the transformation taking place in the former Eastern Bloc, for which he undertakes long-term projects. He is an associate member of Magnum Photos and lectures in photography at the Institute of Creative Photography (ITF), Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic. Milach's books include ''7 Rooms'' (2011), ''In the Car with R'' (2012), ''Black Sea of Concrete'' (2013), ''The Winners'' (2014) and ''The First March of Gentlemen'' (2017). He is a co-founder of the Sputnik Photos collective. In 2008, he won a World Press Photo award. In 2011, ''7 Rooms'' won the Pictures of the Year International Best Photography Book Award. 2020 Polish Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Poland on 28 June 2020. As no candidate received a majority of the vote, a second round was held on 12 July, in which incumbent president Andrzej Duda, running with the support of Law and Justice, faced off against Civic Platform vice-chairman and Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski. Results from the second round of voting, announced by the National Electoral Commission (Poland), National Electoral Commission (PKW) on 13 July, indicated that Andrzej Duda had won with 51.03% compared to Rafał Trzaskowski's 48.97%. The first round of voting was due to be held on 10 May 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. 2015 Polish Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Poland on 10 and 24 May 2015. In the first round of voting Law and Justice (PiS) candidate, lawyer and Member of the European Parliament, Andrzej Duda received the greatest number of votes with a share of 34.76%, followed by incumbent president Bronisław Komorowski (with 33.77%), who ran as an independent with the endorsement of the Civic Platform (PO), which he had renounced his membership in after winning the 2010 elections. Independent candidate Paweł Kukiz came third with 20.80% of the votes. As no candidate had received more than 50% of the votes cast, a second round was held on 24 May between the two highest-placed candidates, Duda and Komorowski.
