Archery At The 1992 Summer Olympics – Men's Individual
The men's individual was an archery event held as part of the Archery at the 1992 Summer Olympics programme. The event took place between 31 July and 3 August 1992. 75 archers competed. As with other archery events at the Olympics, the event featured the recurve discipline. The competition format was completely revamped from prior Games. Head-to-head competition was introduced, after a ranking round. Furthermore, all archery was now done at a range of 70 metres whereas previously multiple distances were used. The competition began with a 144-arrow ranking round. The top 32 individual archers were seeded into a single-elimination tournament called the "Olympic round". For each match, the archers shot 12 arrows. In all matches, losers were eliminated and received a final rank determined by their score in that round, with the exception of the semifinals. Camp Olímpic De Tir Amb Arc
The Camp Olímpic de Tir amb Arc ( en, Olympic Archery Field) was a temporary venue located in Barcelona. It hosted the Archery at the 1992 Summer Olympics, archery competitions for the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was located in a site at the B20 motorway (Spain), Ronda de Dalt, next to the Pavelló de la Vall d'Hebron, in the Barcelona district of Horta-Guinardó. Butch Johnson
Richard Andrew "Butch" Johnson (born August 30, 1955 in Worcester, Massachusetts) is an archer from Woodstock, Connecticut in the United States. He has competed in the Summer Olympics five times, and was a part of the gold medal U.S. team at the 1996 Olympics and the bronze medal U.S. team in the 2000 Olympics. 2004 Summer Olympics At the 2004 Olympics, he was surprisingly eliminated by Ron van der Hoff with 135-145 in the round of 64, placing 52nd overall in men's individual archery. Hiroshi Yamamoto (archer)
is a Japanese athlete who competes in archery, who is a former world number one. He won a bronze medal in archery at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Yamamoto competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery. He won his first three elimination matches, advancing to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Yamamoto faced Im Dong-hyun of South Korea, defeating the 1st-ranked archer 111–110 in the 12-arrow match and advancing to the semifinals. Steven Hallard
Steven Leslie Hallard (born 22 February 1965 in Rugby, Warwickshire, England) is a British archer who was a member of the British squad that won the team bronze medals at the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympics. Olympics Hallard has competed for Great Britain at four Olympic Games. His first appearance came in 1984 in Los Angeles where he shot a score of 2473 and finished in 21st position in the individual event. At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul a new elimination format was introduced for archery events. In the individual event Hallard ranked 7th in the preliminary round to qualify for the next round but was knocked out of the competition following a 21st-place finish in the 1/8 final.
