Archery is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Archery is being hosted in the Pokhara Stadium between 5 and 9 December 2019. Pokhara Rangasala
The Pokhara Rangasala ( ne, पोखरा रङ्गशाला) is a multi-purpose stadium in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It has a capacity of 16,500 spectators. The venue is located to the south of Pokhara at Rambazaar on the eastern bank of Seti river. History The facility comprises a football stadium surrounded by an athletics track of 400m, one 7-A side football ground, a volleyball court, a basketball court, cricket ground and covered hall for games like badminton, karate and other indoor sports. The administrative building of Kaski district sports office and ANFA Kaski lies here. 2019 South Asian Games
The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. The Dasarath Stadium hosted the opening ceremony along with the men's football tournament, with the stadium's renovation after the 2015 earthquake completed in under 10 months with an increased capacity of 20,000, along with the closing ceremony on 10 December. Ruman Shana
Mohammad Ruman Shana ( bn, রোমান সানা; born 8 June 1995) is a Bangladeshi archer. He won the bronze medal in recurve single's event of 2019 World Archery Championships and became the first Bangladeshi archer in history to win a medal in the competition. He lives in Khulna. Shana won gold in the men's singles recurve category at the 2019 Asia Cup in the Philippines. Early life Ruman born to the family of Abdul Gafur Shana and Beauty Begom and passed his childhood at Koyra village in Khulna. He used to play with arrow-bow made by bamboo during his school days. In an interview with BDnews24, he said that he was not much attentive to his school, instead, he used to remain busy playing football. Karma (archer)
Karma (born 6 June 1990) is a Bhutanese recurve archer from Trashiyangtse in eastern Bhutan and lives at Thimphu also in Bhutan. Career Like with other Bhutanese, Karma is a mononymous person who goes by a single name. Being interested in sports, Karma took up archery in April 2009. She could have been a runner if not archery came first. Her first appearance as an international competitor was in 2012 and by 2018, she already competed in more than eight international events. She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event at the 2013 and 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark and she represented Bhutan at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as wildcard. Archery Association of India (AAI) is the national governing body of archery in India. Its headquarters are located in New Delhi, and its current president is Arjun Munda, AAI is a non-profit, government funded organisation affiliated by World Archery Federation (IAF), Asian Archery Federation (AAF) and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and recognized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India. World Archery
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. History FITA was founded on 4 September 1931 in Lwow, Poland (today Lviv, Ukraine).
