Alfredo Arango Narváez (16 February 1945 – 20 December 2005) was a Colombian international footballer. He competed for the Colombia national football team at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Career Born in Santa Marta, Arango played professional football in Colombia. The midfielder spent most of his playing career with Unión Magdalena. He won the Colombian league title with Unión in 1968, and is the club's all-time leading goal-scorer with 104 total goals. He also won league titles with Millonarios (1972) and Atlético Junior (1977). Arango played for the Colombia national football team at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. Juan Fernando Arango Sáenz (born 16 May 1980) is a Venezuelan former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He spent the better part of his professional career in La Liga with Mallorca, appearing in 196 official games, and also played several years with Borussia Mönchengladbach for which he signed at the age of 29. Arango was Venezuela's record holder in international caps and goals for several years, scoring 22 times in 129 matches between 1999 and 2015. Roberto Arango-Vinent is an American politician who served in the Senate of Puerto Rico from January 2005 until August 2011 representing the San Juan district for the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (NPP), which is a conservative group derived from the Republican Statehood Party. During his tenure, Arango voted for anti-gay legislation several times. He resigned his senate seat and withdrew from politics in 2011 after a series of nude photos from the gay match application Grindr were made public, and stated that he had come to realise that he was gay. In 2014, he ran, unsuccessfully, for election again. Early years and career Arango was born in the city of Miami in the United States. Both of his parents were Cuban. Octavio Betancourt Arango (January 4, 1928 – June 18, 2017) was a Colombian Catholic prelate. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Medellín from November 23, 1970, until November 10, 1975, and a bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Garzón from November 10, 1975, until April 26, 1977. Life He was born on January 4, 1928, in the municipality of Abejorral, Antioquia, his parents were Vicente Betancourt and María Arango.
