Rass (also spelled Ar Rass, or Al-Ras; ar, الرس) is a Saudi Arabian City, located in Al Qassim Province. It lies southwest of Buraydah, the capital of the province and north of Riyadh, the national capital. Al Ras ( ar, اَلـرَّأْس, Ar-Ra’s, "The Cape") is a locality in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. It is the westernmost locality in the area of Deira and borders the Dubai Creek to the west and south, and Al Dhagaya and Al Buteen to the east. Al Ras, literally meaning ''The Cape'', is one of the oldest communities in Deira. It is bounded on the north, south and west by route D 85 (Al Baniyas Road) and to the east by Old Baladiya Street (110th Road). Important landmarks in Al Ras include the Dubai Gold Souk, Dubai Spice Souk, Al Ras Hotel, and St. George Hotel. Al-Ras, Tulkarm
al-Ras ( ar, الراس) is a Palestinian village in the Tulkarm Governorate in the eastern West Bank, located 7 kilometers South-east of Tulkarm. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, al-Ras had a population of approximately 506 inhabitants in mid-year 2006. In 1997, refugees made up 11.1% of the population of al-Ras. The healthcare facilities for al-Ras are based in Kafr Sur, where the facilities are designated as MOH level 2. History Ceramics from the Byzantine era have been found here. Seven ruins are shown on the plan north of this village within about a mile. They are ancient watch towers, like those of Azzun. Al-Ras Al-Ahmar
Al-Ras al-Ahmar was a Palestinian Arab village in the Safad Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War on October 30, 1948, by the Israeli 7th Armored Brigade during Operation Hiram. It was located 8.5 km north of Safad. History Remains found in the village indicate that it was populated during the Byzantine era. Ottoman era Incorporated into the Ottoman Empire in 1517 with the rest of Palestine, in 1596 it appeared under the name of ''Ras al-Ahmar'' in the tax registers as part of the ''nahiya'' (subdistrict) of Jira in the Safad Sanjak. The Companions of the Rass, also known as the People of the Well or the People of Ar-Rass, were an ancient community, who are mentioned in the Qur'an. The Qur'an provides little information concerning them other than to list them with other communities, including ʿĀd, Thamud, the People of Noah and others; the Qur'an groups all these communities together as nations who went astray and were perished for their sins.
