''Aquarius'' is the debut studio album and fourth overall project by American singer Tinashe, released on October 3, 2014, by RCA Records. In 2011, after the disbandment of the girl group The Stunners, Tinashe announced that she would begin pursuing a solo career. The following year she released her debut mixtape ''In Case We Die''. After raising her profile with the mixtape, Tinashe met with RCA Records where she subsequently signed a recording contract. Following her signing a record deal, Tinashe immediately began working on the album. During the recording process for the debut album, she released two other mixtapes, '' Reverie'' (2012) and '' Black Water'' (2013). ''Aquarius'' was titled after Tinashe's zodiac sign. Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe ( ; born February 6, 1993), known mononymously as Tinashe, is an American singer, dancer, and actress. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Tinashe moved to Pasadena as a child to pursue a career in entertainment. Her notable roles included as a motion-capture model in the animated film ''The Polar Express'' (2004), Robin Wheeler in the Cartoon Network television series ''Out of Jimmy's Head'' (2007–2008), and a recurring role in the CBS series ''Two and a Half Men'' (2008–2009). ''Black Water'' is the third mixtape by American recording artist Tinashe, first released on November 26, 2013 via INgrooves and her official website. The mixtape was released after the release of her second mixtape '' Reverie'' and also being signed to RCA prior to releasing the mixtape. As executive producer, Tinashe enlisted a variety of musical producers to work with her on the mixtape, including Boi-1da, Best Kept Secret, Dev Hynes, Frank Dukes, Gabriel Lambrith, !llmind, Inc, J. Oliver, K-BeatZ, Karon Graham, Misfitz Sounds, Osinachi, Ryan Hemsworth, Vinylz, besides being executive producer of the mixtape Tinashe also wrote all of the mixtapes songs. The Stunners
The Stunners was an American pop girl group, formed in Los Angeles, California in 2007. Originally the members were Allie Gonino, Hayley Kiyoko, Marisol Esparza, Kelsey Sanders, and Tinashe. In July 2009, after the debut single "Bubblegum", Sanders left the group and was replaced by Lauren Hudson. The group split up in 2011.
