The Apostolic Nunciature to Mauritius represents the interests of the Holy See to officials of the Catholic Church, civil society, and government offices in Mauritius. The position of Apostolic Delegate is a diplomatic one, held by a member of the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He has the rank of ambassador. The post of Nuncio to Mauritius is held by the Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar and resides in Antananarivo. Holy See
The Holy See ( lat, Sancta Sedes, ; it, Santa Sede ), also called the See of Rome, Petrine See or Apostolic See, is the jurisdiction of the Pope in his role as the bishop of Rome. Adriano Bernardini
Adriano Bernardini (born 13 August 1942) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who occupied positions in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from the 1970s until he retired in 2017. His first assignment as Apostolic Nuncio was to Bangladesh (1992–1995) and his last to Italy (2011–2017). He has been an archbishop since 1992. Biography On 31 March 1968, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Rome by Cardinal Egidio Cardinal Vagnozzi. Eugene Martin Nugent (born 21 October 1958) is an Irish Roman Catholic prelate who has served as Apostolic Nuncio to Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar since January 2021.
