Ambrose Madtha
Ambrose Madtha (2 November 1955 – 8 December 2012) was the Roman Catholic archbishop and the Nuncio to Ivory Coast. He was the sixth Indian to become an Apostolic Nuncio. Early life Ambrose Madtha was born in Belthangady, on 2 November 1955 to Joseph Madtha and Mary Madtha. Joseph Madtha (circa 1917 - 28 January 2007), son of David Madtha and Angeline Madtha was a humble and religious man. He lived a decent life with his wife Mary Madtha near the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Belthangady. He did his schooling at Church Higher Primary School, Belthangady which was near his home. Career Madtha was ordained as a priest on 28 March 1982. He earned a Master of Arts in economics from Nagpur University, a Bachelor of Education degree from Lucknow University, and a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Urban University. Holy See–Ivory Coast relations refers to the current relationship between the Holy See and the Republic of Ivory Coast, which was established in 1970. A significant amount of Roman Catholics live in Ivory Coast, being nearly one-fifth of the population, and the two states are considered to have a cordial relationship. Ivory Coast maintains an embassy in Rome near Vatican City, while the Holy See has an apostolic nunciature in Abidjan. The current ambassador of Ivory Coast to the Vatican is Séverin Mathias Akeo. Paolo Borgia (born 18 March 1966) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 2001. Biography Borgia was born in Manfredonia ( Foggia) and was ordained a priest on 10 April 1999. He studied canon law and prepared for a diplomatic career at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy. Ante Jozić (born 16 January 1967) is a Croatian prelate of the Catholic Church. He has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1999. Though appointed as apostolic nuncio and titular archbishop in 2019, injuries suffered in a traffic accident prevented him from being consecrated and taking up his post. Joseph Spiteri (born 20 May 1959) is a Maltese prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He has been Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon since March 2018. Biography Joseph Spiteri was born on 20 May 1959 in Sliema Malta, though the family lived in Luqa. He was the first child born to Ernest Spiteri and Emmanuela née Cassar.
