Apogon Doederleini
''Ostorhinchus doederleini'' is a species of fish in the Apogonidae, cardinalfish family, also known by the common names Doederlein's cardinalfish and fourline cardinalfish. In Japanese language, Japanese it is called ''osuji-ishimochi''. It is native to Subtropics, subtropical regions of the western Pacific Ocean, its distribution extending from Japan to Taiwan and Australia to New Caledonia and the Kermadec Islands. This species reaches about 14 centimeters long. The male and female look alike. The body is pinkish or brownish with four brown lines reaching nearly from head to tail. David Starr Jordan (January 19, 1851 – September 19, 1931) was the founding president of Stanford University, serving from 1891 to 1913. He was an ichthyologist during his research career. Prior to serving as president of Stanford University, he had served as president of Indiana University from 1884 to 1891. Starr was also a strong supporter of eugenics, and his published views expressed a fear of "race-degeneration" and asserted that cattle and human beings are "governed by the same laws of selection".
