Anyone For Tennis
"Anyone for Tennis" is a song by the British rock band Cream. It was used as the theme song for the 1968 film ''The Savage Seven'' and is titled "Anyone for Tennis (Theme from the Savage Seven)" for the soundtrack album. The subtitle was dropped for Cream's single releases. Guitarist Eric Clapton wrote the song for the 1968 film ''The Savage Seven''. It was his second collaboration with lyricist Martin Sharp (their first was "Tales of Brave Ulysses"). According to biographer Michael Schumacher, Clapton was unable to find a melody that suited him, despite expending considerable time. The song was recorded during the sessions for Cream's third album, ''Wheels of Fire''. However, it was released on ''The Savage Seven'' soundtrack album and as a single instead. Cream (band)
Cream were a British rock band formed in London in 1966. The group consisted of bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker. Bruce was the primary songwriter and vocalist, although Clapton and Baker also sang and contributed songs. Formed from members of previously successful bands, they are widely regarded as the world's first supergroup. Cream were highly regarded for the instrumental proficiency of each of their members. Cream is a dairy product composed of the higher-fat layer skimmed from the top of milk before homogenization. In un-homogenized milk, the fat, which is less dense, eventually rises to the top. Ginger Baker
Peter Edward "Ginger" Baker (19 August 1939 – 6 October 2019) was an English drummer. His work in the 1960s and 1970s earned him the reputation of "rock's first superstar drummer", for a style that melded jazz and Music of Africa, African rhythms and pioneered both jazz fusion and world music. Baker gained early fame as a member of Blues Incorporated and the Graham Bond Organisation, both times alongside bassist Jack Bruce, with whom Baker would often clash. Jack Bruce
John Symon Asher Bruce (14 May 1943 – 25 October 2014) was a Scottish bassist, singer-songwriter, musician and composer. He gained popularity as the primary lead vocalist and bassist of British rock band Cream. After the group disbanded in 1968, he pursued a solo career and also played with several bands. In the early 1960s Bruce joined the Graham Bond Organisation (GBO), where he met his future bandmate Ginger Baker. After leaving the band, he joined with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, where he met Eric Clapton, who also became his future bandmate. His time with the band was brief. The Haeco-CSG or ''Holzer Audio Engineering-Compatible Stereo Generator'' system was an analog electronic device developed by Howard Holzer, Chief Engineer at A&M Records in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, Hollywood, California. ''Crossroads'' is a 1988 music collection box set of the work of Eric Clapton released by Polydor Records. The set includes his work with the Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and Derek and the Dominos, as well as his solo career. Several live or alternative studio recordings were previously unreleased.
