Anwar Hussain Laskar (28 December 1964 – 18 July 2022), also known as Rana Bhai, was an Indian politician. He was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2006, elected from Sonai. The Sentinel (Guwahati)
''The Sentinel'' is an English daily newspaper launched in 1983 in the city of Guwahati, in the state of Assam, India. It has four editions published simultaneously from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong and Itanagar. ''The Sentinel'' caters to the entire North Eastern region of India. History It was first published in 1983 and senior journalist Dhirendra Nath Bezbaruah was selected as the founder editor. The newspaper was edited for a long time by Mr. Bezbaruah, who was also the former president of The Editors Guild of India. Former Assam DGP and litterateur Harekrishna Deka and renowned journalist Gauri Shankar Kalita also were editors of this newspaper at some point of time. The Assam Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Assam. Asom Gana Parishad
Asom Gana Parishad (translation: ''Assam People's Council'', AGP) is a state political party in Assam, India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat, that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state. The AGP has formed government twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001. The party split in 2005, with former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta forming the Asom Gana Parishad (Progressive), but regrouped on 14 October 2008 in Golaghat.
