Anthony Silva (born 1974) is an American politician who served as the 78th mayor of Stockton, California from 2013 until 2017. He is also a member of the San Joaquin County Central Committee of the Republican Party. Mayor of Stockton Silva was elected mayor in the Stockton's 2012 mayoral election, unseating incumbent mayor Ann Johnston. On May 15, 2014 Silva slept in a cardboard box outside to draw attention to the problem of homelessness. On November 16, 2015, Silva gave God the key to the city of Stockton. In December 2015 Silva announced a development plan for Stockton. The plan would build on the city's waterfront and create an airport. The plan also included the establishment of an ordinance prohibiting sagging, a fashion trend. LGBT groups protested Silva's appointment of someone to a city planning commission. António João Pereira de Albuquerque Tavares da Silva (; born 30 October 2003) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Primeira Liga club Benfica and the Portugal national team. Coming through Benfica's youth system, Silva impressed during his time with the reserve side, winning the UEFA Youth League in 2021–22, being instrumental part of Benfica's first European trophy in 60 years. Antônio da Silva (born 13 June 1978) is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Da Silva began his professional career with Eintracht Frankfurt in 1997, but did not play any league matches. In 1999, he moved to SV Wehen of Regionalliga Süd. Four years later, he joined 1. FSV Mainz 05 where he completed 90 domestic league matches, before being transferred to VfB Stuttgart in 2006. He won the Bundesliga during his time there, in the 2006–07 season. From 1989 to 1992, he was curator of birds at Loro Parque, the largest parrot park in the world.
