Antipolo Station
Antipolo station is an elevated Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) station situated on Line 2. Located in Antipolo, Rizal, is the eastern terminus of the line. It opened on July 5, 2021 and is the line's easternmost station, located on the stretch of Marikina–Infanta Highway near the intersection of Sumulong Highway. It is the first Manila LRT System station outside Metro Manila to be operational. History Antipolo station was constructed as part of the Line 2 East Extension, which called for a extension eastward from Santolan station and the construction of two stations. Construction of the Line 2 east extension began in September 2015 while the construction of Antipolo and Marikina stations began in May 2017. Marikina–Infanta Highway
The Marikina–Infanta Highway, also known as Marilaque Highway, as well as its former name Marcos Highway, Marilaque Road or Marikina-Infanta Road, is a scenic mountain highway that connects Metro Manila with Infanta, Quezon in the Philippines. Motorists colloquially refer to the road as Marilaque Highway. The Marikina–Infanta Highway starts at the intersection with Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City, near its boundary with Marikina, as a physical continuation of Aurora Boulevard. It traverses the Marikina Valley and passes through Antipolo, where it intersects the Sumulong Highway at the Masinag Junction. Sumulong Highway
The Sumulong Highway, constructed in 1960, is the highway in the Philippines that connects Marikina with Antipolo and the municipality of Cainta in the province of Rizal. It was named after Don Juan Sumulong, an Antipolo native who served as the country's senator and founder of the Democrata Party. Santolan Station
Santolan station is an elevated Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) station situated on Line 2. It is located in along the Marikina–Infanta Highway in Calumpag, Marikina, near its boundary with Pasig. From 2003 to 2021, this station was the eastern terminus of the line. The station became an intermediate station when the Line 2 East Extension opened on July 5, 2021. This station currently serves as the eleventh station for trains headed to Antipolo and the third station for trains headed to Recto. The Santolan Depot, where the trains of the line are cleaned and maintained, is also near the station, as well as the line's Operations Control Center (OCC), all are located in Pasig. This is the only station on this line with an island platform.
