Antidote Shanghai
Antidote Shanghai is a group of Chinese music producers and DJs that host several monthly events in Shanghai, and in other cities around Greater China. Origins Antidote Shanghai began in 2005 at a party in a small Shanghai bar called C's club. The event turned into a monthly phenomenon and moved on to larger venues such as the Shelter Club and features independent Chinese music producers. Most notable among them are Shanshui Records, founder of Sulumi, Antidote co-founder B6, and other foreign guests. Antidote events have gained a reputation for bold, eclectic music selections, culture jamming antics, cryptic dress codes, and often live electronic music. 2007 incident In July 2007, the group staged a mock ''coup d'état'', running into an exclusive member's only night club (Volar Shanghai) and removed the resident DJ by force. B6 (musician)
Lou Nanli (born 1981 in Shanghai, China), better known as B6, is a Chinese DJ, music producer, multimedia artist and graphic designer. He began producing electronic music and sound art in 1999 as B6, and graduated from the China Academy of Art in 2004. He is often cited as being one a pioneer of the Chinese electronic music scene. Biography In 2000, he founded the independent record label, Isolation Music. He also released a series of his own compositions while producing the sound and album artwork for a number of alternative underground musicians. His own music covers a variety of genres ranging from techno and house, to Industrial dance, IDM, Ambient music, Ambient, Electro, Experimental music, Experimental and Industrial Noise. Modern Sky Festival
The Modern Sky Festival (Chinese: 摩登天空音乐节; pinyin: Módēng Tiānkōng Yīnyuè Jié) is an outdoor rock music festival in Beijing, China, organized by the Modern Sky record label. The first festival was held October 2–4, 2007 at Haidian Park. It featured four stages of music and over 120 bands, including the headliners, the American band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Chinese bands included New Pants, Rebuilding The Rights Of Statues, P.K. 14, Queen Sea Big Shark, Joyside, Carsick Cars, and Snapline. In the 2009 festival, all foreign bands were dropped from performing due to "unforeseen circumstances". Only local Chinese bands performed. As of 2014, the parent company Modern Sky Entertainment put on more than 20 festivals a year throughout China. Midi Modern Music Festival
The Midi Music Festival, sometimes also called Midi Modern Music Festival or simply Midi Festival () is among China's largest rock music festivals and is hosted by the Beijing Midi School of Music. Since its inauguration in 1997 it has been held each year in Beijing during the May Day holiday (May 1–3), with some breaks in 2003, 2004 and 2008 (all times held in October). Currently, it change to（ April 28th to May 1st). The 2008 festival was delayed to October for reasons related to the 2008 Summer Olympics, and in 2020 and 2021 they were cancelled due to COVID. The festival currently is held annually in four Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Shenzhen. The Culture Show
''The Culture Show'' is a British magazine programme about books, art, film, architecture, music, visual fashion and the performing arts.
